Question Winter fishing in the Highlands?

I have a spare day on the mainland early next month and fancy a cast. I was going to go to Tarvies, but it was really disappointing last time I was there. Any other tips for a couple of hours fishing in the Inverness area?

Billy

2 hours of Inverness will bring you in the range of Loch Insch, Lochter, Haddo, all fish well and there is a new fishery about Elgin sorry can't remember the name but some will come up with it. It was in the Trout Fisherman a couple of months ago, Geddis fishery is just outside Nairn. hope this is of some help

Achagour Fishery is your best bet, through Nairn then take the Grantown road over past Ferness.

Not the most scenic of waters but probably the best rainbow fishing in the area.

try Dunlichity 01808521442...8 miles south of Inverness, or Stoneyfield Lochs near Invergordon...01349852632...20 mins north of Inverness on A9

Not a fan of fisheries but if haddo is within range well worth the time ,Mike Barrio the boss is a great guy and has some intersting tackle for sale and his extra long distance line !

Fishing can be excellent ,very good stocking policy!

I fished Dunlichity last week, nice wee fishery, seems very well run and probably the closest to Inverness
