Hi Buddy,

Hope you enjoy the forum.

You've got Raygill just outside skipton, a few forum members on here fish there, a c+r fishery with two lakes for fly fishing, with some quality sized fish.

There's the washburn valley between otley and harrogate consisting of three reserviors, two with stocked rainbows and wild browns, and one with wild browns only. Fewston and swinsty are open for weekends throughout winter, but it can be quite exposed and the fishing isnt the easiest through the winter months.

Not far from weatherby racecourse there is maran lakes, with four small lakes with a healty stock of rainbows, and day tickets are very resonable.

If you want to travel a little further afield you have stocks, which is renowned for its quality of fishing but closes in a couple of weeks for the season.

There are alot of small waters around yorkshire that I havent fished before so cant really comment on, but there is alot to offer.

Hope that helps a little

Cheers For the info, havent been out to Raygill as yet, but will give it a go in the spring, to be honest the look of it ( old quarry ) is not for me. i was brought up salmon & trout fishing on the ness, the nairn, loch ness etc, i have only been rainbow trout fishing about 20 times so far, would prefer getting some river fishing but its not the easiest to find around here that is easily accesible

Get yourself onto the Calder. Both the Brighouse and Halifax clubs have some excellent stretches of water for Trout and Grayling, at very affordable prices.
