A great fly for browns + bows but best around the middle of June when the beetles are on the water. you ideally need high bracken covered banks + a strong breeze to blow the beetles onto the water.

the best imitation pattern I have found is by Gwilym Hughes:

Fly Dressing (scroll down a bit)

sport can be fantastic when the fish are feeding hard on them they stuff themselves so much on these beetles that they feel like bean bags when you handle them. the beetle hatch usually lasts for about 2 weeks.

hope that helps
