Default The Wife wants waders for Christmas!

I'm still in shock!

When I asked the Goddess yesterday what she wanted for Xmas the reply was an ipod. This morning she has changed her mind and now wants some chest waders! This is all down to one day last summer when I took her river fishing (1st time ever).

So what's the consensus...encourage or dissuade? Is my fishing time too precious to me or should I celebrate a shared interest?

Anyone one got a pair of size #7 chest waders going begging?

Nidd

Maybe compromise on a pair of thigh waders? They can look fetching teamed with a pair of cut-offs and they'll keep her from getting into deep water, and it may bring you closer together.

(This one's for MrTrout, again)

Nidd, mine too became incredibly into the subject of fishing and wading!

So much so, that a trip to the Orvis shop in Stamford cost me a small fortune!

However, she has since discovered Simms, so i do indeed have a very nice pair of Orvis Ladies Goretex waders with size 7 wading boots as well, all only used twice and very much as new if you are interested!

personally i think encouraging her is a sound investment. All tackle purchases normally taboo, become common place and a joint investment!

Let me know if your serious?
Jas

What do you mean Sharkey P,
I would encourage her, the more anglers the merrier.

Angry NOOOOOOO! No, No and No .. and NO!

Get 'them' involved and there goes your 'Peace and Quite' on the beach; be it a lake or river. Want to take the 'extra tibble' from you hip flask (that she doesn't know about)? T'ain't going to happen.

Other guys walking up to 'shoot the shxt' as we'd say on this side of the Pond? T'ain't going to happen.

Need to pull out your ... well you know .. and take a quick pee on the beach? T'ain't going to happen.

GadZooks! I could go on and on and on and on ......

"DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!!!!!" (Line from an old si-fi tv show for context, just before the 'danger' came on the screen. "Robbie the Robot" would always 'warn' the young fellow that .. fill in the blank.)

I thought you'd know better! Wife wants waders for Christmas. End of story. If she doesn't get waders . . . Let's just say your permits to fish will be few and far between.

Alternatively, you could always suggest that waders might make her bum look big. Don't let her see the video clip from SharkeyP though!!!
