Default Casting to full fish

Is anybody fishing waters that the fishery owners have started feeding the fish.
They,ve been doing this for weeks now at my local fishery.

You just cannot seem to catch them on lures properly like you would expect at this time of year. Its only effective on bite indicators.

The fishery staff say its to stop the fish losing condition, but they should be fattening up on fry but obviously this is not the case.

My thoughts are the fish are being fed so why bother wasting energy chasing around for food.

Not good for the Paying anglers.

Is this countrywide, might go to other waters who dont feed their fish just to get some proper sport. I feel guilty casting to pellet fed fish. Advice please, ck.

I only know of one fishery where this happens, I'm going to take a stab and say it's the same one ck.

I must say when I first heard about this I did think it not only strange but massively expensive. Do you think it will provide some bumper over-wintered sport early next season? Only time will tell.

Only if they start introducing Fritz or Orange Flame marabou into their pellets.

Throw in handfulls of gravel where the feed gets thrown in and then cast in after it ...

Can, t judge whether your being cheeky or serious. Im not saying starve them, and im not saying you cannot catch them, what i am saying is that they are not moving as such to get their food, ie under a bite indicator and static fishing seems to be the only way. It is frustrating.

Hi Stuart, I think you know which fishery it is and i,ve fished it today and a fortnight back and its practically near impossible to induce a take on a lure.

Actual don,t know why they are doing this because the res must be stuffed with fry certainly perch fry. Probably will produce good fish for next year but thats months away. Agree with the needless expense for extra feed, its a local water just abit annoyed, ck.

If they are coming to the static flees, why would you want to pull lures?

Many anglers would prefer to twiddle than pull anyway.

Being a small fishery, it possibly doesn't have the natural food resource required to sustain a good head of trout over the cooler months.

Also, when the temps drop right down, trout don't go chasing around all over the place for their food anyway, expending all that energy on slim pickings.

cheeky, sorry, i fish for wild fish so the idea of manipulating the stock of fish to increase the catch seems odd, in some ways not catching makes it more real, sometimes they are just full.

I'd go fishing for some proper fish, the Welsh Dee and its grayling are within fairly easy range..... when the water drops.
