I've got the mag. so we seem to be ok,

I do have a point to mention in one area { small water based }.

It's explained that a ' noted ' angler had turned up to do a feature sometime ago with all his reservoir tackle and was sure that he had all the ammunition available to winkle out some fish for the camera.

Well this is a point that i have tried to get accross for years............. because they are ' good ' reservoir anglers it does not mean that they will automatically make good small water men......... small and large stillwaters are two totally different disiplines, and you don't go tackling a small water with a team of three crunchers on 10lb rio, well you can if you want , regards to rod's , lines , there is room for the heavier rod and line, simply used as an aid to ' get the fly ' out there, just because it's an 8/9 or even 10wt line it doesn't mean that you cannot tailor the business end to suit small water fishing.
My team all use 10ft 8# rod's usually married to a 10# floater but thats were it stops............. the business end involves 4 or sometimes 5 lb points with flies ranging down to 16s. Of course it's pleasant to use lighter outfits but sometimes it just isn't viable or the best option, used correctly a heavier outfit can deal with most if not all small water work.

Fred.
