Default The BFFI 2009

Once again a great show. A Bit more room, no Frenchmen (alas ) but Pearsalls from the past & all those gifted Fly dressers to look up to! Thank you Steve Cooper, I look forward to doing it ( spending that is ) all over again next year. Will that be the 6th. & 7th. Nov. 2010 ?

Default Sad state of affairs ...

Sad to report that the nice people on the Pearsall’s stand at the BFFI had their only full sample card showing the original colours of Gossamer threads from over 30 years back STOLEN from their stand.

(This is in addition to Lakeland losing a £300 reel, various flies being stolen from the tyers’ displays including mine and even tools being nicked from tyers’ benches.)

If any forum member is offered a Pearsall’s sample card in the next few weeks – be aware that it might be stolen property – PLEASE do the right thing and contact your local police.

If any forum member has a “friend” that has suddenly acquired a sample card – again please impress on them to do the right thing and send it back to Pearsall’s.

And – if the sticky fingered person is YOU – then shame on you – put the sample card in a jiffy bag and post it to Carol or John at:

Pearsalls Embroidery,
Langley Threads,
18, Heathway,
Cardiff,
CF14 4JT
Wales

Kind regards

We also had a Marryat reel and an Esox Lucis rod stolen from our stand.

What is it with people.

Its such a shame because 99.9% are great.

Lets hope what go's around comes around and they suffer some misfortune.

BTW John and Carol are the nicest people you could meet and i hope they get the card back.

It was a shame to hear about the theft's, i was with phil when we found out about the pearsol's card going missing. It's a shame that we have these people among us who want to spoil what was a fantastic show. Nice to meet up with a few people from off here.. and thanks to all who help support the youth team, its very much appreciated!

The lady on the stand explained that it was the only original card left but I dont think the moron that took gives a f**k about that.

Andy,
all being well, BFFI 2010 will be on the first full weekend in November.
6th/7th I believe.

Pity we have to suffer the low life element!!!

This sort of thing is a real shame, one of the more enjoyable aspects of flyfishing (at least as far as i am concerned) has been the people i have met over the years, and the occasional total stranger whom i have met whilst fishing and who has been generous to a fault in offering a succesfull fly or advice to a fellow angler, an act of generosity that i have also been more than willing to bestow on a luckless angler.

Its sad that there are people like this amongst us who have the cheek to call themselves anglers
