Well, caught my first brownie about 3 weeks ago,for 7lb.and my son Tom (9yr )caught his PB Rainbow the week previous, for 6lb,and today we both recieved our first Troutmasters Badge each, adult and junior,so Father and Son do the double 5 days apart.
Trouble is at two different waters,so i hope the fish off is not the same weekend!!!!

Well done to you both,I hope you get through the fish offs and enjoy the day at grafham and your son enjoys the junior final.
It is an enjoyable day and many friendships are formed there, well worth a trip to it.
Hope to see you there.

And the smile on your sons face says it all.

Nice to see,

If your fish-off's are located within the same area....... then i'm almost certain your dates won't clash, T.F. try to separate fish-off's that fall in one catchment area.

Well done on winning your badges.

First thing to say is 'Very well done, both of you, great fish and very special as 'father & son.' I look forward to the day when I go fishing with my son ... he's not quite 5 months yet ... it may be some time.

However, does it not strike you as a little odd that your first brown trout weighed 7lb? After all, they are our indigenous species and in the majority of fisheries a 1lb fish would be something special.

I think lighthouse was saying how its odd that a your first brown ever is a 7 pounder, simply commenting on the fact that more and more waters concentrate on rainbows and big browns, i am sure no dig was intended at you or your sons achievements well done john
