Just a quick post to say hi, been sitting around a pond for the last year or two catching roach and decided to take the plunge , buy some fly gear and get out in the fields !
I must admit that I'm enjoying it already even though my waders haven't seen the light of day yet and the only casting I've done is in the car park next to my business.
What I am enjoying already, armed with my ordnance survey map and wellies, is finding rivers and streams again after 30 years, I remember faffing about on these rivers when there was a lot of indsustry in the valleys and they looked ( and smelled ) like devils spawn, but they are gin-clear now and seen the odd fish darting away as my sixteen stone crashes through the bushes.
So looking forward to next few months where I'll have tons of questions for you folks , here are a few photos from todays 'find' , it was a stream on the map but I hadn't seen it before so after a hours trek I find this, which is around two miles long and looks promising for next years season, don't you think ? I have three of four streams on my hit list and will post photos when I find them . ( light was starting to fade and photos from an i-phone , will be better next time, promise

)
