Default Decisions, decisions

Hi fellow fly fishing nuts. Iv'e only been fly fishing for 8 months & I just can't get enough!
I've only done UK (& 1 Austrian) still waters.
I have a greys grxi #6/7 9ft 6" rod, which is great. However I used a 7ft rod in austria & loved the "whippiness".
Would it be practical for me to fish on still waters in the uk with this type of rod & if so, what make & model should I get (* I dont mind spending a few bob)

What rod rating was/is the 7ft?

What do you mean by 'whippiness'? Softer actioned?

Don't mind the banter Bobby, its all good clean fun, we all get involved, just a wee laugh.

Maybe at this learning curve you are more comfortable with a shorter or softer rod at the moment.

Have you had any instruction yet? Are you still a youth or a grown adult?

The Pirate.

Default message for pirate

Hi pirate, I'm a youth of 44 years trapped in the body of an athletic 21 year old.
Only had minor tutition on our village cricket field, prior to going it alone on local still waters.
I love the rod I have (Greys #6/7) but wondered if you got more of a buzz from lighter, more delicate kit?

Yep, i didn't mean to offend bobby. You can't go wrong with PPs guidance.

When you need lines, PP is also the man to contact.
