Smile If you had to make a change next season.

Hi, what would you change or try to improve, about your fishing for next season? The end of each, my fishing buddy gives me his flybox to replenish, which I don`t mind doing, as I love tying. Last season I used barbless hooks for some of his favourites and only let the cat out of the bag last week, over a pint of Magners. I think I have a convert. Me?, to use my waist pack more, it`s unbelievable the amount of stuff you stick in your waistcoat pockets (just in case). Peter.

I am still trying to devise or find the perfect Pale Watery imitation so thats one thing.

Crack fishing spinner patterns, something i dont do.
Oh and practice, practice and more practice.

Learn to fish streamers in my local river. Gain some consistency and confidence fishing small midge patterns during the summer evenings.

I'm with you on that one P&P, everything but the kitchen sink in mine. From numerous lighters and a teddy mascot i would call Gerald if stranded in the wilderness, to latex gloves and condoms if i'm lured into an early morning dogging session

I think i'll start with emptying my waistcoat

Less rainbows, more brownies, even if that means travelling a lot further afield.

next year for me is to concentrate more on the fly rod and less on the spinning rod

As a coarse fisherman since i was a kid fly fishing has always taken a back seat. The last couple of years ive only fished with bait a handful of times.
This summer iv found myself an almost 100% fly fisherman (please forgive my sins )

Next year starts with a trip to NZ so i plan on concentrating on fly fishing when i get home. Im going to put in some serious fly time and im looking forward to it!

More time fishing and less time fly tying and rod building!

1 - get my son more interested and better at casting

2 - have a serious crack at my local grayling more...starting this winter hopefully!

Don't much like waistpack's when I've tried one - seem to get on better with waistcoat and bag (for stillwaters) or small backpack (for rivers)
