Default expensive rods

spending 700-800 pounds on a sage or g-loomis rod does it mean i will catch more fish than using a 150-250 pound rod.I use greys grxi and ive caught more fish than i can remember so y spend all that money.A guy writing saying sage and g-loomis are the best rods on the market i beg to difer.

Thumbs up

The money you spend on fishing rods is directly proportional to the number and size of fish caught.

It's down to pride of ownership and more expensive rods will usually be lighter, have a higher standard of components and graphite.

I think the prices are starting to get out of hand.

There is a lot of great middle priced tackle for you there, from Greys, Scierra, Guideline, Bloke etc, that performs well and won't break the bank.

If you can afford a Maserati, you're not going to be driving a Skoda.

The Greys GRXi are arguably the best rods in the £80-120 category.

This must be at least the tenth time this thread or similar has been started - is nobody else bored senseless with pointlessness of it?

The 9ft 5/6 certainly is. Stunning rod for the money.

I wouldn't be seen actually using one, but it's a great rod for poor people.
