Default Rsm gren gds killed in afghan

Hi all - deep regrets to daz chants family, a big loss to the household division.
he will be deeply missed.

Has anyone any ideas about fly fishing for help for heroes.

Was thinking about having a sponsored fly fishing event like trying to catch 100 trout for 2 anglers over a 48hr period but dont know what fishery would allow this to happen.
Preferably in the kent area.

thanks

To be honest Cat, there are lots of Help for Heroes activities going on every day in the Military as well as civvie. Perhaps an idea from your fund raising efforts would be to buy subscriptions to fishing mags for the guys deployed on operations and have them posted out to them. These can be a little touch of sanity in a pretty f***** up place.
Stan Headlys book, The Loch Fishers Bible took me to better places on a bad Iraq tour in 2006. Just a thought.
Andy.

Sad that any member of our Armed Forces looses there life , Comes with the job,, but none the less its hard to take in

After 16 years in army,, ive lost a few friends,,, It hurts .

I send Red Cross parcels as i call them to my son when hes in Iraq ,, every wee bit helps ,,, simple things that we take for granted ,, helps the forces moral

Fishing for help for heroes,, sounds good

Sad and tragic. Our service men and women do a fantastic job and it's a disgrace they way in which some of the wounded are treated on their return. Money should not be an issue with the ongoing care of our service personnel.

These people are giving their lives so that others may enjoy a better quality of life, and as such deserve every bit of support that we can give. This should be down to the goverment and they should not have to rely on charity to ensure they have what they need.

Ok, rant over.
I would be happy to support any initiative you organise.

RIP mate, condolences to his family.

As an ex squadie, of the first gulf war, i know what it's like to loose someone close to you.

I attend a center in shropshire, called COMBAT STRESS which treats ex service personal suffering from Combat PTSD, This is also a charity, like Help the Heroes
it is about time the MOD did more to help.

If you get an event sorted, to raise cash, I will definitely sponsor you.

Dave
