Default best knot for flies and droppers

What are your favourite knots? I use grinner for tying flies on the end of my leader and water knot for tying two pieces of line together. Has anyone got a knot they rate as stronger or better?

Blood knot for home-brew tapered leaders - perfection loop for leaders - Uni-knot, turle, or Davy (timber hitch) for flies - doubled slip for tying to the bend of a hook - nail as a whipping for attaching braided loops.

Uni knot for leader to braided loop and leader to flees, two-turn water knot for droppers.

Really glad that someone else recognised the Davy knot as the Timber hitch.

Davy knot (Timber Hitch) is good when the dia of the leader is balanced to the dia of the hookshank, but if I use a fine dia line with a big hook it slips. i.e. a size 8 B110 with 0.14 stroft ABR for bugging. (with a fine dia line, not as much weight is required to hit bottom).

I discovered that if the last turn of the knot is taken thro a second time, it don't slipo.

I think Paul Proctor has since published similar findings

I can honestly say the grinner has never let me down in 30 years of fishing with nylon, fluoro or braid
