This is always a tricky one. In Canada they usually put it in brochure or on the website. I had a day's sturgeon fishing in September, and as this had been arranged by phone I had no idea what the going rate was. I simply asked the guide and he said between 10-15%. I gave him $60 on top of a day that cost $500.
I you have several days booked there will be a price for the whole package. If there are a few of you going, my suggestion would be to tot up the whole price and apply the 10-15% rate depending on how good his service has been. Don't say that because you didn't catch anything it is the guide's fault. Look at how hard he works to make your trip enjoyable, and how much effort he goes to to try to get you to catch.
