Default Wild Brown Trout ?

How far do you think a wild Brown Trout can drop down a waterfall and survive?

...and before anyone starts i dont mean a near vertical drop.

I say wild Brown Trout because that is the fish involved in the question.

100ft? I suppose it will have reached terminal velocity by then so theoretically forever. Then again it depends on its entry.

Lets say fish got washed down a burn from a Loch, the burn runs down the side of a hill. At the bottom of the hill a small stream flows which has many deep pools. I am just wondering if the fish could have made it all the way down to safety.

i would have put money on not seeing this question on here today!

but in answer to your question i would also suggest that it would depend on how it lands in the water.

I reckon most fish can make it down pretty much any waterfall they come accross on a wee burn, easy.... if they can make it going up then going down has to be easier surely?

random question...

Wild fish are tough and very resilient; so, I suppose it would depend on the force and position of entry from a given height! I would go with Warren's answer! Up to 100ft, depending on the above criteria!
