Default fisheries that stop stocking?

Is there any members, etc out there of streams, or rivers that have ceased stocking trout, or know of clubs that have taken this step that I could contact.

I am after comparative catch returns from before and after, and how the river management changed to accompany this.

You might want to contact this club (Abercorn Angling Club) They are not a "fishery" though in the accepted definition of the term. We took a conscious decision voted by members at AGM to stop all stocking a few years back. Early days but results look promising so far.

Our very own Warren Slaney at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire?

And possibly the Salisbury & District Angling Club, some of whose water is now "wild" and unstocked, with results relatively well documented in catch returns (I'd guess?)

thanks theo..and highlander for the info I will follow it up.
Warren has kindly sent me the figures which is very impressive.
However I am arming to convince the AGM of a small brook of about 4 miles. Quoting the Wye is one thing but trying to compare it as a similar model is stretching it even for me.
Any body know any others?

No probs Pom... always happy to help with something like this...

If it's a brook you're talking about, check out the Wellow Brook in North Somerset, which I think was one of the WTT's very earliest successes: here's a recent EA press release from a quick google:

Worth giving the WTT a quick call too - they're sure to have the case studies (including Wellow) at their fingertips?
