Look for a starter kit, this will get you started with all the bits and pieces you need. PM Grommitt, he will sort you out with some tackle. Or you could try a local fishery to see if they do introduction days, you can use their tackle and see if flyfishing is for you.

If I were you I'd be looking at Greys G series 10ft 7wt rod,Grxi Reel and all the spools and Grxi lines all for around £140.00 and a £10 worth of flies..check out harrissportsmail its good gear cheap...and a great starter,The starter kits are *****...excuse the pun....

goodluck and tightlines for the future.

Welcome to the forum.

A Weight Forward 7 rod/reel/line combo if reservoir fishing should sort you out.

Get a wf7 floating line, and either a wf7 intemediate or sinking line as well as some flies and you should be sorted.

Lets hope you intend fishing for Tarpon as opposed to trout otherwise the advice you have been given above might not suit your intended use.

Tufty, this is a question often asked and depends on many things, where you fishing and what for? this helps narrow it down.
