Default Taper to leader

Hi all
which knot should i use when i connect a length of mono (tippet) to
a slow sinking taper. on both ends of the taper are two loops, a loop on
the end of the Fly line I have been threading the loop on the taper through
the loop on the fly line and then in on it,s self and then forming a loop
on the mono and doing the same to connect it to the other end of the
Taper leaving an end to which i tie the fly. I am sorry if i have,nt explained
it very well but the end result seems to be a very untidy length of line, resulting in loops on the surface of the water. I am new to fly fishing and
have been really pleased with my first season this year but this issue has
been bugging me all season. Can you help.

Thanks, Steve

a two turn water knot or 3 turn if you dont feel confident that two will hold but it will ....or you can attatch a tippet ring to the end of your taper then attatch your tippet to that via a tucked half blood knot ,this will stop you shortening your taper every time you wish to change your tippet ....

Thanks for that barbusbruce
that looks a lot tydier than the loop, just wondered
if having loops in the line would spoil the presentation? anyway thanks again
