Default Rather doubt it unless you cast on grass for a VERY long time.

Line is 'dirty,' and needs to be cleaned. (Hanging up in the guides is a dead 'give-away.')

Strip it off your reel into a basin of warm water and fairy liquid and run it through a towel then pull it through a dashboard wipe and you might be ok

Thumbs up Thanks SS.

Don't know what you folks have on your side of the Pond so didn't want to toss in 'get this/do that.'

There's a fair chance that your line has become dirty - picking up all sorts of grime, grit and effluent from grass and ground. However, I doubt it's B U G G E R E D. What you need is the Best Universal Grit Grime & Effluent Remover.

A couple of drops of detergent in a bowl of luke warm water - swish your line about a bit - spread it out on a towel and let it dry. Then apply a line replasticiser or 'line slick' product. Polish your line with a soft cloth and there you go.

If that doesn't work ... then it's B U G G E R E D!

Casting on grass does not do it any real harm. your line will be fine once cleaned

Welcome to the fourum.Snakes 1989. When i first started flyfishing i learned on the playing field of the local school. After a few practise sessions my line became dirty and sticky .I took it off the reel and put it in a basin of luke warm water and fairy liquid left it to steep for half an hour .Then i dried it by pulling it through a clean cloth. The end result was a fly line as good as new.hope this helps
