Default too long?

As you know i am trying to get a delivery service to pick up a rod from my home and deliver it to scotland, easy you would have thought WRONG!!!! I have tried quite a few companies, first couple i tried "Mmm you have to have an account with us sir and spend at least £50 a week" but the biggest problem i seem to have encountered when i have had a reply of the others is "Oooo, that is too long sir we only except packages that are no bigger than 1.5m"WHATS ALL THAT ABOUT"!!!!!!!!!!! The 2 piece rod is in a tube which is 9cm by 162cm long and there lies my problem, the 162cm.I have a couple more companies to try so have not given up just yet, will report any progress.

Have you tried UPS? You would have to go to one of their depots, but I have sent "irregular sized" parcels with them before to USA and to domestic addresses. Not the cheapest though.
Hope this helps.

http://www.interparcel.com/

I've used this outfit for a few years now, and have sent many 9-10ft 2 piece rods with no problems, usual cost is about £12.50, it's worth a go.

Regs, V

LOL, when I say used them a few times, you know what I mean!!

I did register my details with them MrT and now get an additional 5 or 10% discount, it is a while since I last used them but they have been very good, iirc they deal with most of the major players, so it's a bit like using confused .com, you may be offered a choice of couriers and service options.

Regards, G

Just popping to classifieds..............
