Default Fish Guts

So, what do you do with yours? You get home with a nice bag of plump trout, clean them, and.. what about the bits we don't want? Down the drain? But what if you don't have an open one.. squash them down the sink plughole? Down the loo? Bag them up and put them in the bin (nice in the summer!), feed them to the neighbours cat in the hope it will become so ill that it won't dream of setting foot in your back garden to leave deposits of it's own waste ever again (apologies, had a few issues in this respect lately..) - seriously though, I'm fairly new to this, what do YOU do with yours?

When i decide to take fish i do one of two things, gut it there and then depending on the location. Or gut it at home, take a wander along the road to the back of a hotel with their outside bins and bung the bag in there

I don't often kill a fish but if I do then just bin it or gut the fish when caught as it helps keep it fresh and chuck the guts away , nature will soon take care of them and don't forget to see what is inside before you throw them away
PS: Don't do this if you are going to catch and kill large numbers in a day on stocked waters as people will not be happy with fish guts all over the fishery

Gut them at home then place the guts in a carrier bag and place them in the bottom of the freezer. pull them out on bin day and chuck 'em in with your normal household waste. No mess, No fuss, No Smell.

When I do take the odd fish, take it home, guts out, head off and on a plate for the neighbours cat, he has been eating them for years now. As long as he does not Sh** in my garden, I'm happy with my disposal methods..

My M8 went sea fishing a few weeks back and upon his return gutted and froze 80 mackerel. The dumb ar*e thought it would be a good Idea to throw the guts in the bin (13days before it was due for collection) That was the final straw and her indoors packed her bags and went, He is now one of the happiest blokes I know and has just moved in a Lap dancer that is 15 years younger than his old banger. So it worked out quite well in the end

Default Fish Guts

Always put the head, tail, guts, out in the back garden on top of the 3' high compost heap. Corvids immediately take their pick and overnight the remains disappear. Never anything left the next day.

An oldish cat was discovered by our terrier in a corner of the garage. Its owners had put round a leaflet crying out for news of their beloved missing moggie. We rang them, they happily collected their cat and later gave us a bottle of Chablis!

I suspect my fish remains seduced the cat in the first place and it was sleeping off the feast.

Try putting your fish remains in the back garden - it might work for you too!

If allowed collect them in the freezer ,come late November through january double dig next years bean /sweetcorn bed with guts and heads down deep, better yeilds and in a way free, used to do this with freezer burned fish as well .
Due to me longer being a limmit bagger yeilds have gone down and I resort to growmore and odd fish bones guts ect from my very limmited kill and the odd supermarket fish head.
Get out there and grow some fresh veg to go with your fresh fish, cant beat the taste of fresh picked veg.
