Default Crunchers and snatchers

Anyone out there with the same problem of fishing a fly that appears to do well for anglers but not for you.
I have caught a fair amount of fish on Crunchers, but Snatchers appears to be a no no,
I have caught a couple on them but have blanked with them more,
Have to admit because i have not done well with them, i dont really use them.
Have only tried them as a dropper on a Floating line letting them sweep round.

Default fast or slow ??

Hi Joe,

it may be that you are not moving your snatchers fast enough , generally snatchers are more effective when "pulled" , whereas crunchers will be more effective fished slower.

I have had not much luck with either, nice bit of advice Robbie, I must remember it for next season, slow for crunchers and speed up to a pull for snatchers. Thanks.
Billy.

Snatchers need to be moved Laurie. Anything from a sloooooow fig 8 to a good pull. My favourite M.O. is a team of 3 on a slow inter.... slooowly does it. And don't just limit them to use on a floater - they'll work on any line.

There is however an exception to the movement rule... when you cast out your snatchers, try leaving them static for a few moments, while they fish 'dry' and then 'damp'. Takes will often come straight away. Start the retrieve with a couple of good strips as soon as they have sunk, then steady away with a slow retrieve.
