There was a post on this fairly recently - in the Stillwater updates section, I think. Not been there in a while myself.

Hi Ali

I was at Morton on the 10th of this month. Nice water and friendly enough owner (George). There were 3 boats out. I caught one rainbow and had a few follows. Speaking with the other guys out on the day it was found that nearly all the fish were caught on yellow dancers close to the banks. One guy had a bit of interest with some buzzers but never landed any.

I fished my dancer on a floating line with a varied retrieve.

Tight lines mate, let us know how you and your dad get on.

Wullie.

What is a dancer? Is it a yellow hackled wooly ****** with a tinsel body? on hooking a fish with this fly is one compelled to say "oh, ya dancer!" If MacBeth is the scottish play....is the dancer the Scottish fly? If I tie one in a tartan effect...is it a highland dancer? Very flashy.......is it a disco dancer? Put a few peacock herls into the mix from an eye...surely a sword dancer...I'd prefer to call it a wooly ****** or a palmered yellow goldhead! Its ridiculous!! Olive hackle and tail....a DAMSEL DANCER! hows about west coast ******!

Well it was a hard day, another boat in the morning out and one in the afternoon and 4 bank anglers. i think non of them caught fish.

it took a while to find the fish and get our first offer, the fish were alongfrom the corner of the dam wall to where it goes to like a small rocky beach, got 3 each, di3. blobs, humungus(was best), black lures.

btw yellow dancer didnt get anything
best fish 5lb
really nice looking fish all full tails and fought really hard (specially the 5lber!!! which was on my rod)
