Default the greatest ever posting!

As a relatively new member I had the joy of witnessing an event the other night, which Scratch quite rightly picked up. The highlight of the forum so far....Marmalades post;-

I've been fishing for more years than the entire population of Barton Stacey has had hot dinners and in those years (while you were clamouring for more hot milk) I've made more casts than the entire fishing fleet has caught cod with more rods than Nottingham has coalfields and I can honestly say that I'm still fairly rubbish.

I've just ordered a rod that is closer to four figures in cost than three and I'll still be fairly rubbish when using it and you may well think I'm mad, but when I'm on the river spanking the water in my rubber boots like a demented MP and half my home-made flies end up in a tree the one thing I can know with absolute certainty is that it wasn't the rod.

And when I'm very old and sitting by the bank in a nappy, with a set of false teeth and a few wild brownies that I can only just see waving over the gravel the rod will still be there, as young as it ever was.

Don't ever under-estimate the cost of buying something that puts you in your place.

Sheer brilliance.
Is this the best ever? Can any one find any other gems to equal it?
Thankyou Marmalade.

It was rubbish: shy on punctuation (it's not like the odd comma here and there would cost anything extra) and it should have read 'is closer to four figures in cost than two' (not three).

Seriously, though, thanks for the comments! :-)
