Default Still water nymphing

Hi Guys
For still water nymphing is the set up the same as the epoxy buzzer set up or is it better to impart some movement in the nymphs like a start/stop figure of eight.

Thanks

Default

My default retrieve is a medium/slow figure of eight.
If this doesn't work or the water is fairly calm & I can clearly see the end of the flyline, I'll try a variety of different length pulls with different pauses.
If I can see the fish and it's reaction (or not!) to the nymph, then it makes selecting the retrieve a lot easier.
I fish clear waters a lot, and it really is amazing how often you get interest, and ideed takes on the drop if you cast within 5 yards of a feeding fish.
