Default Hardy rods - can I sell here?

I have three Hardy rods I wish to sell; havent really worked out a price yet but one is a 6' Hardy cane rod serial no. E54313 which I believe is 1941; the other is a 9'6" which has the words graphite fly on it - must find the serial number and the third I have yet to look at! Would this be the place to sell or could someone direct me elsewhere. Sorry to be so dim!

you cant sell as yet as you dont have enough posts i believe you need over 50 posts before sending PM's and selling. and that would be in the for sale section.
but its best to stick around and get to know the members on here and gain trust as well. as i believe the forum has had bad experiences in the past from new members wasting time and selling things they dont have etc.

hope this is of some help .

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Welcome , although you cant sell said rods , what you could do is tell us the story behind them . Why are you selling and why do you not yet really know what you actually have

Rod No. E54313 relates to 1938, but I'm puzzled by the length - 6 foot? Is it a spinning rod?

Welcome, BTW

The rods belong to my husband; he wants to buy some new fishing gear but admits that he has so much that he should sell some first. I said I would help him by looking at the best place to sell them. However, he told me they were Hardy rods and I looked at the serial number on one of them (and looked it up); I dont really know about fishing tackle so now I have found this site I can ask him to give me a detailed list of what he has. I know he has had quite a lot of the rods for many years, never uses them but cannot bear to part with them. I do think the 'lure' (sorry!!!) of some new gear (stuff he really wants and will definitely use) is now persuading him to part with some of his old bits and pieces. From my point of view I would love him to have a clearout!!!! even if he does replace it with new.

You could always list them on E-Bay sometimes things that dont move on here simply need the bigger audience of E-bay to sell.

Yes, obviously I have thought of that. However, my own hobby is very specialised and I too belong to a forum. When one of our members is selling things, its great to have first refusal before it goes off to e bay. Some of the equipment and books I look at for myself is either expensive, hard to get hold of (ie.American etc) or just discontinued; its so nice when fellow members offer it to the forum first. That was my 'thinking' behind all this - but perhaps e bay is the way to go if you think this site is not right. I thank you for your advice as, if you look at my first post, this is really what I was looking for - direction!!!
