i was wondering if anyone has purchased rods with this grip and what there initial thoughts of it are ,as to feel ,handling under pressure with a fish on,feel/flex whilst casting etc

thanks.

Bruce, Martin, ulmric1, did a very good report on it some while back.
He found it very pleasing, and said it felt very nice when it was wet.
I think the jury is still out on them, but I would like to try one.
Mind you Martin talks a lot of sense IMO, and knows his stuff.
Give him a PM, he will fill you in.

I have one of Mick's rods with Q subba.

Technically it is great and much better than cork, better grip, more comfortable, wears well, is very consistent in feel ........... but if you offered me the choice? I'd go for cork it is not as good, but it is cork.

I think it is either age or my traditionalist nature. I am the same with spinning and coarse rods. Cork only, none of this foamy stuff.

What model did you buy Carl? and what sort of price, I quite fancy a small stream job, about 7ft.
