Default IPod Nano?

Yes i know that it is about an IPod but i am unsure where this question should go?
I have recently just purchased an IPod Nano G5 for the sole use of taking it with me when i fish as certain music helps me relax and get in the zone,so to speak.
The added bonus is a video facility to hopefully capture that fish of a lifetime
But i am looking for a case that is waterproof and helps to protect the thing, that i could use?
Does anyone have any advice and do they themselves find music helps them when they fish?

Should you not be trying to hear for fish rising or splashing? Sometimes i find i hear a rise before i see it and i concentrate looking at the area it came from and cast to it once it rises again.

Case wise though i think sportsfish sell a selection of fully water proof cases for small cameras and mobile phones which would fit it but i dont honestly know how you will get around attaching the headphones with any case as you will need a hole to feed out of and would make it hard to be full waterproof

Not sure if they would be available yet. Stores have only just started getting standard cases in. The width and height of the Nano is the same as the 4th gen. So you could try and find a clear waterproof one then just use the camera through the case. Not sure what the quality would be like though.

Not sure if you can get one specifically for the new nano but you can get some on ebay for about £10 that are sealable waterproof pockets with built in phone jack socket.

I used to be horrified at the thought of articifcial intrusion while fishing but recently bought an iPhone (otherwise a complete Luddite). I have bought loads of talking book and podcasts and love taking it fishing.

Allows you to easily take in the sort of books you would never get round to actually reading...been polishing off the classics as well as teaching myself philosophy

I remember in my youth when music ranked higher than fly fishing awareness stalking trout at Avington listening to The Pixies on a tape player. I looked out of place anyway being dropped off by my mum in an old metro with my shakespeare rod being surrounded by old men in flash cars with flash kit, I must have stood out by a mile! Makes me laugh thinking about it!

What a band. An ever-present on my iPod. Not whilst fishing though

This came up a while ago about music.

Personally, I love it as it helps me relax. Always has as thats kind of what music is there for. So is fishing (nowadays)
So it's the best of both words for me

I use a zip tie bag, but I have an iphone so the touch screen wont work.

Get yourself a pair of headphones that can skip/pause tracks. Laughing then

I don't have it on 24/7 but if I fancy a change from bird song etc at least I have the option

I will usually listen to music on the way to a fishery or a match to help get me in the right frame of mind.
But once I'm there, I want to have a banter with the all the staff and lads.
And then when I'm on the water (bank or boat) I juts think you would miss so much with headphones/music.
I agree with the importance of listening for rises and movement. In a amtch you are also listening out for activity in other boats.
I also just enjoy the opportunity to take in all the other sounds and silence of the nature around you.
The MP3 player stays locked in the car at all times.
