Why don't you put your couple of questions up on here, then the tackle shop owners will answer them, that's what forums are for..............
Or, you PM them.

That is great, obviously you was a Boot Neck, do you know my youngest son Deli, he's been in the mob 27 years now, has just got another 3 years, trying to beat my service, he's based in Pompey barracks, in the blue band magazine office, cushy number.....
I spend a lot of time down there, I stay in the SNCO's mess, great life.

I couldn't agree more, I've been out nearly 40 years now, what a difference I see when I'm down in Pompey, we had to double across the parade ground, now it's a car park, I spent most of my 30 years on foreign commissions, two and a half years in those days, now if they go to sea for a week they cry their eyes out, my home base was Fort Blockhouse Gosport, it's a museum now, one of my old boats is in the museum, HMS/M Alliance, I commissioned her in 1947, Rothsay Isle of Bute, depot ship was HMS Maidstone, fantastic times, I'd do it all over again, I'm probably the only guy in captivity who has fly fished for salmon from the casing of a T class submarine.....

I still have some good runs ashore when I'm down in Pompey, as well as my son, I have his son, in the mob, he's a Stoker, Oh! they don't call them Stokers now, on HMS Southampton, sorry he's on HMS York now, the Southampton paid off, they are in Guz at present, Guz was OK for a quiet run, one of the best runs ashore, apart from the far East, was down the gutt, that's not very good now, there's only one bar left open, that was last time I was there 8 years back, The Barbary coast in Floriana was a good run. time to close this, it's making me homesick and I need to tye some Red Tags for the Itchin when I get back home...cheers
