Smile Lourdes

My wife is a nurse and goes out every year with ill people to Lourdes around 12th July. She wants me to go out next year. Now all I want to do is fish. Has anyone any ideas of where I can fish in that area?
Thanks

Yep the inlaws goes regulary, the river beside the grotto is full of trout, very shallow and wide, also so small lakes nearby,
weather will be warm and along the river you will need insect repellant, ,
it can be a nightmare without it,
look it up on utube,

Thank you for the replies. Saw the river on Google. Any suggestions on flies. Have a 4 piece 10 foot Orvis and plenty of light lines. Do I need bring any special gear apart from the repellant. Want to travel fairly incognito as the local clergy know me too well. Operated on most of them!!

Sorry mate, misinterprted. Wife is a Theatre Sister in Belafst and a real good girl. Don't know the names given to the healpers but I can say this they a great people. I was a surgeon and I would not be able to do what they do.
Maybe I will hit the Grotto sometime. Might catch a few trout1
Adios

Very late reply so you have found out by now, but fishing is forbidden at the Shrine, which is why the trout there are gigantic! however the fishing above and below the shrine is still good. Locals fish 'a la toc' which is suspending a maggot or worm on a line and lowering it over the fish v e r y gently, then feeling for the bite. watching them is like watching a Ninja. I only have a couple of hours to try and chuck a line last time so had no luck, but am going this week and will try terrestrials and dries.
