Default New Fishery at Leadburn

Hi all... I've tried the new fishery at Leadburn and I have to say, I thought it was brilliant. I got there on Thursday at the back of 7am and the place was open already. They have 2 lochs open, and one of them is deceivingly big considering its man made. Thursday was a bit breezy but I hooked a beauty Rainbow about an hour in... around ten pounds (put it straight back, they charge extra for fish over 10lb). I paid £30 for 8 hours, and I kept 2 for 9lb. After my bag I was on catch and release and caught another 4 or 5. I had one monster on the bottom loch, I had it on for nearly 10 mins and never seen it yet... then it got off!!! Caught a 3lb blue as well. They have a cafe Bistro and Members lounge opening soon, you can see it at the foot of the top loch. I done a web search umpteen times for them... found nothin but eventually seen an ad in the paper. Their site is www.leadburnmanor.com Seemingly they have a big feature in next months total fly fisher. oh, and they are meant to be puting a bar in next year. The staff seem brand new and helpful... free coffees all day. When I was there, the guy was talking to a bloke about fitting loads of easy access for disabled fishers and their helpers quite soon which I think is a nice touch. Verdict.... Its an extra couple of quid but definitely worth it. Its good having such a big place in that area now. Im goin back next week. Rob

£30.00 for 2 fish is a bit steep but fair play the guy is trying to build a decent fishery but he will have to remember that its a working mans sport so prices have to be kept to a minimum.

I was told the fishery was supposed to be corporate only and 24 hour but he changed his mind.
The Dry fly only idea looks interesting.

passed it, doesnt look appealing just now, muddy holes in the ground! will give it a bash next year once its had a chance to grow on and mature.

Prices are a bit steep, but looking at the planned facilities he will need to bring in big money to make it pay, can see it going private soon though just like portmore.
