What has happened to this button normally on the quick links menu if you are not logged in and normally on the top bar when you are logged in?

Ditto. The 'search' button also seems to have gone awol

I hope this is not an attempt to reduce the load on the server to sort out the speed issues, if it is its not working. GIVE US OUR BUTTONS BACK!!!!!

Does Admin actually know what is happening on here because the forums reputation is slowly being reduced by a slooooooooooow server and changes that nobody seems to know about.

They are working to fix it , server overload is the problem.they now have with the other forums on this server about 90,000 users so they are upgrading.
