Default Bloody waders

Converted to breathable chest waders 4 years ago.First pair cheapish- £120 or something- and really good .Except after less than 6 months they leaked- seams appeared to be fraying because..err.. I walked along riverbanks a lot.So spend nearly £300 on name brand - Hardy. Even better. But ..you guessed..random leaks.Wet knee one week , wet calf the next.Bearable but severely trying my patience. I need to get another pair and want some that don't leak if you look at them in a funny way.But damned if I am paying £400 plus for a pair of big wellies which will probably leak .But don't want to return to sweaty smelly heavy rubber ones again. What do I do ?

Hi

I was thinking about getting breathables as my £50 Shakespeare neoprenes were leaking in a different place every time i used them soon as i sealed one leak i got another

Then in desperation and last ditch attempt before splashing the cash on new waders i bought a new tube of "Aquasure" and went over all the seams that would be underwater when i was float tubing................. problem solved

Never had a leak since

Next time i have buy new neoprenes just going to buy a tube of Aquasure too

I give my waders some abuse but thats the kind of fishing i do. Climbing over walls through think bush all sorts and my snowbee pvc waders at the end of their second season have taking all the abuse i could give them and still have not leaked.

I have used Vision Extremes for the last few years worth every penny few leaks as they get some stick at times but nothing a tube of Aquasure wont solve great stuff just gave a tube to a fellow angler with similar probs.

Dont know if this is relevant, I used to have simms (bought in a closing down sale) every so often they started to leak, but a quick dip in the bath and a scub down with a gentle brush, cleaned them up, and the leaking stopped. You do have to maintain them.
I may be wrong here but I am sure that dirty goretex seeps water! aAnd you can rewaterproof them. Eventualy the neoprene socks gave up after 6 years of pulling boots off..but the gortex was fine.

Cheap nylons are fine if you dont made sweating like a pig on sunny days.

You have to give these some serious consideration. Superb value for money.
