Question Largest fly-fishing club in the UK?

I often wondered about this question.

My understanding is that club sizes can vary, from small private syndicates consisting of 10 - 20 members, to very large clubs with hundreds of members.

I suppose the only way to find out is by asking. Any ideas?

Thank you Carlos. I checked their web-site and they mention their membership "in excess of 500".

Anyone belongs to a larger club?

Prince Albert buy quite a way I'd say, 8000 members in 2002 and a 3 year waiting list.

*edit* although that's not just fly fishing

Impressive!

I have just checked their web-site. Would it be fair to say that they are primarily a coarse angling club, but offer some game angling?

I wonder how many of their members are game anglers

PAAS has and aims for approximately 5000 full members not including juniors, seniors & non-fishing members. Membership varies but roughly:

1/3 are primarily coarse anglers
1/3 primarily game
1/3 mixed

Of the 239 fisheries:
28% are coarse
32% are game
40% mixed fisheries

If the aim of a angling association was to foster the improvement of anglers, share information and access to waters, we could argue that this forum could constitute a 'club' and thus be the biggest.

Thanks Neil. So this means rougly 1,700 game anglers. A very high number indeed.

I guess Salisbury and Disrtict Angling Club (SDAC) is not far behind in terms of game members, with about 1,500 game anglers from what I can gather.
