Good all round book for general info on tactics, entemology etc for stillwater. I was reading a book recently and was about to order some of the "recommended flies" when i realised they were mainly for rivers. Any recommendations?

Charles Jardine has been mentioned but not sure if it's the "sotheby's guide...", or the "classic guide..." or if they are actually the same book. Anybody know if they're the same?

"Trout From Stillwaters" by Peter Lapsley remains the best single volume that covers all the UK stillwater disciplines. Some of the advice in it on tackle and flies is a wee bit dated, but the overall package remains very good indeed.

CJ has penned 2 or 3 books. I am a big fan of his "Small Water Trout Fishing".
