check out the fishpond range of vest, chest packs.
very good piece of kit for the money also do a rucksack version, enough size for a hydration pack, but wont be water proof.

Hi Rapid ratter,

The 15l version of these . . . http://www.facewest.co.uk/Exped-Waterproof-Packs.html are pretty good, 100% waterproof and fairly comfortable too. My partner swears by hers and uses it on a regular basis, rather than a fuller, better padded pack. Mine often rattles around in the bottom of a sand-filled sea kayak and both have borne up well to the abuse we give them.

Andy

PS - Exped also do dry bags that you can pop into a conventional rucsac and check out Ortlieb - they do dry bags for cameras and more general use too. All good and fairly strong stuff that lives up to a life at sea or in a canoe on the river !

I use a Simms grey bum bag its got lots of space and pockets and straps to make it a chest pack (that i have never used!), The zips are water proof.for a quick dunking...but not a prolonged soak. Not cheap, and ugly as sin, but it has saved my camera and Blackberry, from a quick trip in to davy jones locker. So its paid for itself a few times over.
Only down side is that line occasional catches the toggles when I have it around the front.
