Default Fly only or bait/fly..does it matter to you?

I personally don`t like fly fishing the same water as bait fisherman...especially when they cast a bubble float right next to my fly!
This happened to me today and bit ****** off to say the least.
From now on it`s fly only waters for me.

What`s your thoughts on this subject?

Cheers Diarmid.

i would not go fishing a still water that had bait fishing unless it was well sectioned off ,,well away from me!!! ,the only time i would consider it is if i were taking the kids, but bait fishing and fly fishing just don't mix in my opinion.

imo there is no place for bait fishing on the same water as fly fishing. i for one would not entertain visiting one of these fisheries. they usually come complete with the buckfast brigade. not my idea of a relaxing days fishing.

no snobbery from me, i work hard and don't get a lot of time to fish so i fish places i enjoy with people i enjoy fishing with. this type of fishery does not fit my criteria. its as simple as that. jon mcmillan.

I think I would have to join in that snobbery....not entirely sure there is a place for bubble floats for trout at all, but that's another can of worms

It isn't the bait fishing it's groundbaiting that's the problem. Creating a feeding area isn't allowed in some countries - and quite right to.

A few years ago my club was at loch fad, it was a very windy day and hard to control the boat. If we drifted anywhere near the bank we had bubble floats and swimfeeders flying at us.
