Default Insect bites

Hi All,

Does anybody else have bad reaction to insect bites.

I got one on the leg and one around my groin which is driving me mad with itchiness.

Anybody got any remedies for this sort of thing. Ive taken antihystemene tablets but still itchy.

Best thing I've ever found for insect bites is TCP.

Yeah, Ill have to get something for the skin. Tablets aint enough. There is an aweful lot of mosquitos around at the moment.

Couldnt agree more with the horsefly thing - maddening itch.

Got bitten on the shins on two separate occasions by something. Weeping sores/bruises which spread to nearby lymph nodes (?) just kept getting worse. Had to get antibiotics both times. Love to know what it was.

Perhaps take an antihistamine tablet - takes the edge off the itch, well for me at least.

Anthisan cream is pretty good for bite/sting relief.

Antihistamine cream for after bite care to the affected area. Boots own brand is good,. For repellent Avon Skin So Soft, dry oil spray or again Boots own brand Insect repellent tropical. With any repellent, go for tropical or jungle as these will be stronger and more effective.

It's not often that people get bit by horse flies, it will be its cousion the Clegg Fly. These flies like damp places. Their mouth parts acts like sissors which cut the skin , hence the bleeding and may appear like a scratch on the skin.
