Take the battery out, then leave the camera somewhere to dry out, maybe in the airing cupboard. After a day or so put the battery back in and see if it works.

I presume its digital, take battery out and sd card,
get hair dryer and on medium heat blow on camera for a few mins,
make sure when you start doin this you have camera in one position, dont keep moving it about displacing water moisture over it again,
after 24 hours lying idle in warm room it should work , len will be last thing to clear, your next camera??????
A waterproof model!!!!!!, lol

Like wise just a bit of patience......I would say keep the battery out though for a week or so, and dont rush it, just a dry warm place.or you can get drying marks in the lens elements.
I turned a lieca digital into a very expensive paper weight in New zealand a few years back....It was on the bottom of the river for a good ten minutes and completely filled up with water..3 weeks later(when the insurance had gone through!!) it fired up again. And was a fine back up for the new one.
As long as its clean fresh water your usually ok for a dunk or two.
look at the entymology thread and look at the post NICE its a shot of of fly with a samsnung nv5/7 cheap as chips on ebay now and a brilliant lens. should cost about £60 for a good one.

A good piece of advice for anyone who drops an electronic device into water is to resist the urge to switch it on to see if it's still working! Take it home and give it a good few days/a week in an airing cupboard and then try it.
