hi all
met a young chap on the water the other day and he said he was new to fly fishing,we got chatting and he said he bought a outfit cheap from his local tackle shop.
i arranged to meet up the following saturday it was blowing a gale but we met up anyway,he wasn`t a bad caster for a newby, but after a couple of hours i cought a couple of nice rainbows and looked at me with envy.eventually he had a couple of takes but lost them on the way to the net.
i gave him one of my flies that were doing the business, and he managed to get two rainbows, and the grin on his face, for me said it all! he coudn`t stop smiling. when we were leaving his parting words were "that`s carp fishing finished for me ", and i thought thats another convert to fly fishing.

daddypuss if you talk to morayflyfisher ( kevin moss ) he would be the best one for tips on carp fishing on the fly. he owns his own fishery and has carp in it as well.
I have not been to Kevin's fishery but i hope some time next year to be able to go up and wet my line.

not sure as to what fly a carp would take but i believe the bread fly and sweetcorn fly ( cant really call it a fly lol ) will work. you can buy artificial bread and sweetcorn and superglue them onto a hook.

hi all
my son is a fanatical carp angler, and a trip to france is the norm.
i went with him once to keep him company, and do the cooking etc. i managed two 29 pounders, (fishing with them boily things), but it just aint the same as having a fully finned rainbow on a fly rod,( like pulling a bag of cement in!) so he sure ant going to convert me to carping, unless of course i get one on fly eh!
