yes been about 4 times in the last month, best day caught 11 rainbows and a perch, worse day 3 perch and a jack pike! Most trout I have caught there are 2 to 3 pounds, but there are lots of double figure fish, I have had some monster takes that have snapped my line.
Can have lots of weed in the summer (they have recently bought a new weed cutter) but I find it concentrates the fish in the clear areas anyway, they have about 3500 triploid blue & rainbow's and browns stocked at any one time as they top it up as fish come out, never caught a brownie yet though.
You have to take a boat but at £15 for 5 hours plus a fish (extra fish £4 each) I think its good value. I take my 10 year old daughter and its only £21 for 5 hours with a boat and two fish.
I have had lots of fish on dawsons olive, but the locals use green buzzers and black sedge. Try the areas around the airators especially the second furthest one, there are usually lots of fish on the surface.
Its called Walton Fishery, the lake is the moat of the Walton Park Hotel in the village of Walton and is leased by Peter (the guy who runs the place), very friendly bunch and they are very happy to give you advice and a bit of banter while you fish. They only have about 7 boats so I would ring and book if you are going at the weekend.
