heya
Just got back from ranskill! Caught 2 and lost a few, strange place as all the fish seem to be in the one spot in the corner every time i go! Round this way i have been to the following
toft newton - big reservoir in lincolnshire, prob take you just over an hour to get there, big place and the wind really hits it but as it's a bowl you can always get out the wind!

otby lake- again prob about an hour from you, beautiful looking medium size lake in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nothing but fields, free use of a boat (check with baliff though) and a cracking little lounge area with a kettle and stove overlooking the water. Big problem with weed a month or so ago if bank fishing, could be cleared by now or take the boat!

Barlow trout fishery - 4 small trout lakes about half an hour from you, bit small for me but easy access and not too many people so you could have one to yourself, lots of big carp in there aswell and gets frustrating seeing huge fish rising then realising it is a carp, prob run to about 15lb from the ones i saw!
