Default early season dry flies.

Seeing as the season comes to a close the end of this month its time for me to stock up on flies for the beginning of the season come march.

im fasinated by dry fly fishing in terms of the visual side of it.

so guys what im asking is what dry flies do the buisness in march and april?

I'm assuming you're fishing a stillwater/reservoir.

I'd get some Black Gnats, Griffith's Gnats, Shipman's Buzzers (dries?) black, olive and hare's ear and for mid-April you might want some Hawthorn Flies.

Not strictly dries but you will also want some suspender buzzers, and or, klinkhammers, black especially.

IMO, one fish caught on a dry is better than half-a-dozen caught on a lure

March Brown, LDO's and the obligatory Klink and CDC and Elk.
You might want to add the a few wee Iron Blues.

I imagine there's thread in there too. The fly is called a CDC and elk.
