I fished the Tawe on a lower beat, by Glais/Clydach on the Mond water.

Its an extortionate £20 for a day ticket, availiable from HR Jones in the centre of Clydach.

I managaged 2 half decent brown trouton the fly, along with several parr. My fishing buddies had a good number of large trout on Mepps spinners.

The day ticket at £20 does allow you to target salmon and seatroot too, although I was just after the browns.

Good luck.

Why would the River Neath be a better bet than the river Tawe?

AS said MAYBEE I know a few guys on the Neath and they say it has fished well lately, also it may be a bit cheeper for a days fishing.

And that was the only reason, if you fish the Tawe, then give the guy some info.

T.K.......

The beat i'm talking about backs onto the Mond golf course in Clydach.

Call HR Jones for info.

My tactics involved (as usual) a size 12 & 14 blue winged olive wet, although my cousin has had great luck with PTNs in 12 & 14 with a fluro pink or green thorax.

Hope thats of some help.
