Default How to tie on droppers?

Hi All,

Ive been googling for a decent site to show me how to tie on droppers. All I can find is dropper loops which I have tried. TBH they are a pain in **** to tie and then when given a quick tug to check line it snaps. Ive bought lines from tackle shop with droppers tied on which dont use loops and seem a lot stronger.

What knot should I be looking up to tie on droppers? Thanks

The water knot - www.trout-salmon-fishing.com/flyfishing-knots.htm. Couldn't be easier to tie, even for someone like me with sausages for fingers.

Or alternatively if you make up your own tapered leaders just leave the lower tag of line from one of the knots and attach it there.

A Paternoster rig.
Keeps the fly well away from the main line. Buy one from Whitbycrablines.com

Two turn water knot is perfect, there is no need for three turns.
