The real question here is how many fly fishers wives/girlfriends/boyfriends will recognise a daddy longlegs.

Most women I know will just say it is a creepy crawly thingy.

(Or is that what they may say about me?)

They are quite common and everyone would know what a daddy longlegs is I think, And that includes females im sure we can manage to say the words 'daddy longlegs' and not just 'creepy crawly thingy'
