Probably best to fish with a couple of buzzers or nymphs on the drift under a bung. Some people might think that is cheating

Sorry if these questions are a bit dumb but I'm trying to pick up as much info as possible
If there's no surface action and especially if there's a bit of a wave wets can be a good choice. Something bushy stripped through the wave will often provide results. As mentioned, Bibio, Kate McLaren, Zulu, Clan Chief have all worked for me in the past.
