I have just purchased Stroft nylon, havnt used it yet, but it does get good reports on the Forum,
You can purchase it on Ebay,
Also fluro i like fulling mill its a bit stiffer, therfore less tangles.
Can anyone tell me what KG 1.80is in lbs is could be 6 or 8 lbs BS.

Don't use Maxima Chameleon try Maxima Ultragreen or Clear. I use them all the time having tried everything else.

Expensive fluorocarbons are designed specifically to catch anglers not fish.

Sorry but i've been caught by the expensive Flouro. It is very good but not worth the extra money. If i could afford it i would use it all the time.

I would never not use fluro (unless i'm fishing dries in some instances). If you ever want to see why, attach a fly to some fluoro and then another to your fav' nylon. Pop the two flys into a clear glass of water. The difference is amazing and i can't believe that nylon doesn't put fish off.

If we all fished with Nylon, we would probally catch just as many fish,
we all believe the Hype about Fluro, sinks quicker fish cant see it,
but costs more,
They will come up with something that they say will be better than Nyon and Fluro,
And of course, more expensive.

Maxima ultra-green in my experience is excellent mono and very strong.I like this colour as suits where I mostly fish reservoirs.I also use Fluoro a lot but Maxima has a place in my bag.As one example fishing dries on a reservoir I would normally use 8lb Orvis copoly extra strong but when the going gets tough Maxima ultra green 4lb can make my day

I do like stroft as also very strong for the fine diameter. My only reservations with stroft are a tendency to tangle on multi fly rigs and a strange almost uncanny memory.I still use it though quite often for tippets or single fly rigs.

Best JP

Another vote for the Maxima Ultragreen. I've said elsewhere on the forum how on a freestone river with a mossy, stone covered bottom it's practically invisible. And it's strong AND limp. I use the 4 lb mostly.

Try Shakespeare Omni. 100 metres of 5lb nylon costs an incredible £2.50. Line diameter is 0.18 mm.
