Unhappy wader repair

managed a few hours yesterday in the blistering sun, only to find my flippin trousers soaked.they're the neoprene kind and i'm hoping it was just sweat as the waders are only a 6 months old and are of a reputable make,
1 how do i repair and find the damaged hole or holes
2 i've got some all purpose extra strong clear waterproof adhesive that might do the trick
or do i just send them off to be repaired.
any suggestions please.

if you cant manage to do it yourself (ie find leaks or seal them) try here to send them off

hi, i had the same problem when walking long distances on hot days , maybe they are not leaking its heavy sweating ,i turned mine inside out ,then filled with a hosepipe to see if they leaked on the seams ,this works on breathables, if they as you say are from a reputable company im sure they will change them ,i think you should have 12 months warranty anyhow ,cheers pete

be very wary of aberdeen water sports.
dropped off two pairs for repair. i was told someone would look at them and let me know what work was required and how much it would cost.
two weeks passed heard nothing so phoned them up to be told that the work had been carried out at a cost of £111.
never asked what work they had done as i assumed that they had fully retaped both pairs as this service was advertised at the time for £45 per pair.
when they arrived i could not belive they had patched one pair with six patches and a single patch on the other. to make matters worse the patches were not even stuck down properly.
have been in touch with them and sent them an email but still waiting reply.
will post pictures of the repairs if i dont hear anything back from them.
the cost for the full retape was changed on their web page just after i got off the phone to them and is now advertised at £89.99.
even with the new price one pair should have been fully retaped and the other patched for the same money.

I was most taken aback when I learned about this. Not long ago I sent my Vision waders to them. Had a phone call saying they had pressure tested them and full retape was recommended. They did a superb job at the advertised price of £49.99 + postage and I would say the waders are better than new.

I am still totally bewildered and like Bruce, obviously wary of recommending any more.

Thankfully i was only charged £51 by Aberdeen water sports for 'repairing' my waders.

I read the posts from the old thread below and thought i would give them a go as the guy who worked there sounded like he knew his stuff and i am simply sick of trying to repair waders.

Like Rmac i heard nothing for weeks then rang lots of times to be told they were being repaired. Long story short £51 needed. Like you i had no idea what work was done. They retaped 2 seams at the knee for that price. Mind you £12 of that was for postage despite the £5 royal mail label on the box.

As for the repair. It's not bad. I wouldn't exactly say the work is 'diving standard' or that the repair is 'invisible' as the guy claims. One leg appears to have been better bonded than the other and there is thick blobs of glue everywhere. I would suggest it depends a lot on who actually repairs them.

when i phoned i asked to speak to diver dave and was told he no longer worked there. i certainly would agree that the repairs were not up to diving standard. £51 still seems steep as they were advertising full resealing of all seams for £45.
